E.J. Baumeister Jr. is an American-born photographer and journalist who for the past 10 years has worked in Western and Eastern Europe, the countries of the former Soviet Union and in Asia. His articles and photographs have appeared in The Economist (United Kingdom), the Newhouse Newspapers (United States), The Independent (London), Tages Anzeiger (Zurich), and Nepsava (Budapest). He is represented for photography by Alamy Images in the United Kingdom (www.alamy.com). He now lives in France.

E.J. Baumeister Jr. was born in the United States, where he worked for newspapers and for the television networks CBS and PBS. He has made documentary films in France, Africa and the United States, and has edited newspapers in Massachusetts in New Jersey. He moved to Budapest 10 years ago to teach journalism and to write and photograph. He attended Clark University and the Center for Press, Politics and Public Policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in the U.S. He now lives in Kaysersberg, France.
